As a method of sustainable farming, Achan teaches others how to regrow a plant by using one of it's own leaves. Any plant with leaves that have a thick stem can be used. The stem of the leaf is cut from the plant at a 45 degree angle, then placed into a pot of soil and covered with a plastic bag, humidity will collect inside and provide moisture for the leaf. After thirty days, the leaf can be removed from the soil and checked for root growth. If it has grown roots, it is ready to be planted into your garden. In the photos below, Achan places a leaf with roots into a glass bottle of water for display purposes only. The leaf can remain in the bottle for one month, and then must be replanted into soil in order to grow.
